In 2048 dogs are U.S. citizens. This exposes their wisdom and magical powers.

Hope, a headstrong 12-year-old girl, can communicate telepathically with dogs. The problem is that no one else seems to share her ability, which makes her wonder if she’s crazy. She discovers a lab that is really a front for a ruthless scientist named Dan Smith, who seeks to harness the unique genetic codes that give dogs their powers. Dan Smith is trying to engineer a quantum evolution in humans using canine super-genes.

Motivated by what Hope discovers, she starts a new political party. This lands Hope in the office of New York City’s mayor, where she finds out he’s financially backed by Dan Smith. In return, the mayor isn’t doing anything to stop him.

Hope and her best friend, Keely, an American bulldog, form a ragtag team of misfit dogs (and one wolf!), who risk their lives to expose the mayor and the dark plans of the nefarious mastermind before he changes the course of history forever.

Michael Cooper is a comedian going through a divorce and out of money. He gets one last shot from his agent to go on a national tour, and he takes his mom with him after she’s been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

ABOUT BRIAN

I’ve always been drawn to Fantasy and Sci-Fi books & movies. Dungeons & Dragons and the science fiction version, Star Frontiers, were staples in my playtime growing up. It still gives me a thrill to open a book and find the map to another world inside.

Even into adulthood when my professional career in Sales began in New York City, play was always close by. I took acting classes and performed on stage, TV, and film.

After several years of acting, I channeled my creative energy into writing.

HOPE FOR THE HOUNDS is my debut novel.

“As a child, I’d pour into books and movies that took me to fantastical places and adventures, wishing I could take part in them. Now, I get to add to our collective adventures, our collective memories.”
