“Ages of Oz” is the most comprehensive and commercially viable adaptation of L. Frank Baum ever completed. We are the new Oz experts and are taking the brand into the 21st Century while remaining true to Baum’s legacy.
"Ages of Oz" is three amazing projects:
Polymorph LLC has developed and copyrighted blueprints for each of the above projects through undertaking the most extensive deconstruction and reconstruction of the entire body of work of American author L. Frank Baum.
The challenge we faced when approaching Baum’s original books is that most of them do not have conclusions or character arcs that satisfy the 21st Century reader. We have extracted literary material from over 20 of Baum’s public domain books to create stories that today’s children and adults will read with enthusiasm and view as vital to the extension of contemporary imagination.
We have tied these stories together into a new, epic, overarching narrative. David Levithan, Executive Editorial Director of Scholastic Press Fiction and Multimedia Publishing has summarized this overarching narrative as “a multi-millennial war between Good Witches and Wicked Witches with children thrust in the middle.”
We have created four illustrated Encyclopedias of Oz which examine in depth each and every of Baum’s Characters, Settings, Objects, and Events. This work totals thousands of pages. We have then appropriated that data to feature prominently in the new over-arching narrative described above.
“Ages of Oz” seamlessly incorporates new creatures, new lands, and new narratives into Baum’s work that are “exciting and entertaining (and NOT salacious) -- and no darker than such a cross-generational topic should be,” (Emmy winner and author of “100 Years of Oz,” John Fricke). We seek to put forth an Oz brand that blends Fantasy and Science Fiction in a way that has not yet been achieved. A reader, viewer, or interactive participant will be as likely to encounter a giant transforming Clockwork Robot built by “Smith and Tinker’s Workshop” as they might meet a beautiful Fairy or ghastly Erbian (evil) Hybrid Beast. Ozma and the reader, viewer, or interactive participant will seemingly navigate a boundless landscape as they progress through the “Ages of Oz.”
What you THINK you know about Oz... is only the beginning!
Our goal, and what we have already devoted years of our lives towards, is no less than the world’s most successful integrated multi-media franchise. Ever.
